Invictus Games Sydney
Sydney Olympic Park, NSW, 2127, Australia
20th October 2018 to 27th October 2018
Founded by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games is an international sports event for wounded, injured and ill former and serving defence personnel. The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who are striving to overcome physical and emotional challenges. The Games also recognise the significant contribution made by family and friends in the recovery process. The Games welcomes competitors of all abilities and seeks to ignite their ‘unconquerable’ spirit and will welcome more than 500 competitors and around 1000 family and friends from 18 nations for the fourth Invictus Games. Archery, athletics, indoor rowing, powerlifting, road cycling, sailing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby will be contested at venues across Greater Sydney, including Sydney Olympic Park and in and around Sydney Harbour. They’re calling on all Australians to help them deliver an Invictus Games that will be a memorable and inspiring experience for everyone involved and will positively change the lives of wounded warriors.
