Inspired by the Guildford Banjo Jamboree, the organizers set about creating a community festival where residents, musicians and music lovers could gather to share the air, the beautiful river and fill Karuah with music and laughter. There will be the best that Australian Bluegrass has to offer featuring: The Mid North, Gleny Rae Virus Bluegrass Explosion and High and Lonesome. Karuah, Port Stephens, is just off the highway 200 kilometres north of Sydney and 50 kilometres north of Newcastle via the Pacific Highway. Driving through Karuah and seeing how beautiful it is and how it's set up with hotels and caravan parks a plenty, the Karuah River of Music Festival is an all weather festival, with ample camping and accommodation facilities and a great weekend to share fantastic music with friends and family by the river where occasionally where you can even dip your feet. There will also be a kids zone with music activity; circus workshop; and food stalls.
