Day One: You’ll be paired up to apply your life cast moulds in silicone. You’ll then learn how to apply the backing mould in plaster bandage. You and your partner will take turns to prepare the moulds and then all participants will come together to discuss the various casting techniques and materials available. To finish, you’ll cast your faces in plaster of Paris as well as casting some sample pieces to test your patinas on. Day Two: Participants will open their cured castings for inspection and use the time to clean up any problem areas and patch any bubbles using the tools supplied. You’ll discuss finishing techniques and applications with a choice of three different finishes and patinas to apply. At the completion of the workshop you’ll have completed a face casting with a professional metal-look patina of your choice
