Urban innovators Inner City Winemakers and Urban Mess Bring have taken their popular Long Sunday Lunches to Merewether Beach.

Winemaker Rob Wilce won such a strong local following, with his winery events in Church Street at Wickham, that the gatherings quickly outgrew the venue. Now, he's taken his creative culinary collaborations with chef Tony Harrison and the Urban Mess Team, to Merewether Surf Lifesaving Club.

The spectacular ocean views have only added to the events’ popularity and foodies have followed in droves! The lunches run on the second Sunday of each month and feature adventurous menus, inspired by prominent food and wine producing regions of the world – like French Bistro, Baja, Catalonian cooking and Basque country.

Fresh local seafood features prominently on each menu; complemented beautifully by lively wines from the Inner City Winemakers stable. Doors open at 12 noon and a variety of dishes can be ordered from the blackboard menu, over the course of the afternoon, from 12:30 until 3pm – or until sold out! Rob’s recommended wines are available by the glass or bottle, at cellar door prices.
