The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize (MCPP) was established in 2007 by the Moran Arts Foundation to award and promote Australian contemporary photography and excellence in all forms of still, photo based artwork – including analogue and digital photography or staged and directorial photo-media work. The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize has prize money of AUD100,000, including a AUD50,000 first prize. Photographers are asked to interpret Contemporary Life in Australia with an emphasis on Australians going about their day-to-day life. Entries are photographs taken in Australia, by Australians and reflect the diversity, multiculturalism and uniqueness of Australian life. As part of their commitment to the arts, The Moran Arts Foundation hosts free photography workshops in schools throughout the country each year. The MCPP includes photos taken by school students of all ages. Visit historic Juniper Hall for an exhibition of winner and finalist photos of 2018.
