Australia's most recognised and prestigious local government art award celebrates 70 years in 2017. First awarded in 1947 to a young Margaret Olley, this year's Mosman Art Prize prize was won by Sydney based, Indonesian born contemporary artist Jumaadi for a multi panelled work that explores the artist's cultural roots while displaying a refreshingly honest and open approach to storytelling. From more than 750 entries across Australia, 88 finalists were selected for the prize exhibition currently on show to October 29. Highlights include further prize winners Helen McCarthy Tyalmuty (Batjamal), (Commendation), Glenn Locklee (for Built Environment) and Clara Adolphs (Emerging Artist Award). Public Program of curator and artist talks accompanies the exhibition. Visitor's can vote for the People Choice announced prior to closing.
