The Ocean Lovers Festival is an annual celebration of Ideas, Art+Music and Actions, showcasing some of the latest innovations, science and state of the art technology for helping the oceans. Be inspired and entertained with art, films, music, food, talks, stalls, workshops and more.
Staged at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach, the Ocean Lovers Festival provides six days of free entertainment and events. Audiences can literally dive in to the famous Bondi Icebergs pool installation by the Sydney Institute of Marine Science which showcases a Crayweed forest restoration project and the Volvo Living Sea Wall ocean conservation project.
The Festival kicks off with a VR and photographic exhibition by not-for-profit Festival partner Underwater Earth – ‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’ at the Pavilion Gallery, opening on March 17, followed by Australian Geographic talks night on March 18.
An Education Station on the beachfront run by TOMRA, the world leading reverse vending company, will inform the public about ways to reduce litter impacts on oceans.
Actions for the oceans include, a beach clean, paddle-out for ocean protection plus yoga for the sea.
