The state’s annual Remembrance Day Service will be held in Martin Place on Saturday 11 November.

Originally known as Armistice Day, Remembrance Day commemorates the signing of the peace agreement which ended World War 1 at 11am on 11 November 1918. It honours the memory of all those who have died, or suffered for Australia’s cause, in all wars and armed conflicts.

We will be joined by the Governor of New South Wales, The Honourable David Elliott MP, Minister for Veterans Affairs, representing the Premier of New South Wales and senior officials from State and Commonwealth governments, Defence forces, Emergency Services, Consular Corps and veteran associations.

For the safety of patrons, security staff may conduct bag checks upon general public attending the service.

The best way to get to and from the Remembrance Day Service is public transport.  Visit www.transportnsw.info or call 131 500 to plan your trip.
