Every year during the October Long Weekend, StarFest gives visitors the chance to view the heavens like they’ve never done before.

Taking place in Coonabarabran, known as Australia’s astronomy capital for its expanse of starry skies and glimpses of the Milky Way, this festival sees Siding Springs Observatory open its doors to the general public. View the stars through the Observatory’s powerful telescopes, sit in on a lecture from famous astronomers, or listen to guest speakers and scientists discuss life in space and the expanding universe at Science in the Pub. With science demonstrations, displays and a market full of star-related wares, both adults and kids will find hours of entertainment at StarFest.
