Surry Hills Festival - Spring into Surry Hills
Various Venues, Surry Hills, NSW, 2010, Australia
22nd September 2018
Sydney's much loved inner city festival will return in September. Themed Spring into Surry Hills, this year's program kicks off from September13 - Devonshire Street and surrounds will be overlayed with a curated trail of vibrant projections and pop up installations transforming the heart of Surry Hills into a network of inspiration and discovery. Bold, fun and gorgeous, Spring into Surry Hills will celebrate founding of Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre in the era of Flower Power (late 1960s/70s), the Centre's role in connecting communities, seeding opportunities for locals and creatives to flourish. The Festival will culminate in one fantastic spring celebration of all there is to love about the iconic suburb, highlighting the area’s history, culture, diversity and community spirit. As per previous years, there will be much to see in Ward Park, Shannon Reserve, Crown Street and pockets in between. Join in long lead preparations for the festival with creative workshops being held at the Surry Hills Markets, on the first Saturday of each month. Head down to Shannon Reserve on June 2, July 7, August 4 or September 1. All funds raised on the day go to community programs presented by Surry Hills neighbourhood Centre.
