Sydney International Wine Competition - Tasting of the Top 100

This is an exclusive opportunity to taste the 'best of the best' food-friendly wines from the 38th Sydney International Wine Competition, a unique wine show where the wines are judged alongside food to best replicate the consumer experience. Wine lovers will be able to taste over 250 wines from eight countries awarded Top 100, Blue Gold, and Gold medals, including trophy winners. You will be able to taste a range of renowned Champagnes, which dominated the sparkling wine category, along with the best of New Zealand's trophy-winning Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs and Australia's top-ranking Chardonnay, Semillon, Shiraz and Cabernet wines. This year you will also be able to experience new grape varieties, such as the first ever Trophy winning, Australian grown Fer wine (from SW Western Australia). There were over 50 grape varieties represented in this year's medal winners, so a tasting session will not only take you around the world of wine it will introduce you to wine's diverse range of styles and flavours. An international panel of 14 judges initially blind-tasted all the entrants, and then tasted the 400 leading wines alongside appropriately matched food to decide the award winners.
