Organised by the Classic Rally Club, the Alpine Classic is a navigation style of classic car rally on public roads like it was back in the 1950s and 1960s. (it is not a race). It is open to all types of cars (although classic cars are preferred) and crews who want to savour the wonderful New South Wales scenery. There will be four entry categories: Social Tour which although not a competition category still provides a chance to get out on scenic roads in your car, and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts, without the challenge of navigational tasks, ideal for first timers. Tour, a competition which features simple route chart instructions, which is also popular with less experienced crews, but it offers real competition and boasting rights after the event. Apprentice, a competition which is for those crews who like the challenge of finding the correct route using more comprehensive map interpretation and navigation skills with some helpful hints provided by the event organisers. The most challenging level of competition for those experienced crews who revel in matching wits with the event organisers is the Masters category (no helpful hints for those crews….). Something for everyone!
