The Hands that Shaped our Community Exhibition
Henty, NSW, 2658, Australia
No upcoming dates
The young people of the Greater Hume towns of Henty, Holbrook, Jindera, and Culcairn are eager to grab hold of and recognise the contribution made by the members of the community long ago. In order to do this the Greater Hume Youth Advisory Committee, after various consultations with members of the community, have identified two senior members from their respective towns and are filming a documentary interview with them in order to record their knowledge and their tales. This will record their stories for generations to come, while allowing us all to see the stories come to life on the faces of these locals. A short biography of the person will be written and a photo taken and placed with a hand cast so in the future their contributions will not be forgotten as it is displayed in the towns museums. The stories will travel around in an open exhibition. The documentaries will be played on a loop in the Henty, Holbrook and Culcairn Libraries and museums and in the Jindera Community hub as a presentation of the people during the months of March to May.
