A unique series of stimulating public presentations by university-associated experts offered throughout Australia.

Drawing on the treasure-trove of knowledge and expertise in Australia's world-class universities, ThoughtLines offers a special opportunity for an engaging and entertaining learning experience via presentations – tailored for the general public - by outstanding scholars in a variety of fields, including science, history, politics, art, literature, economics, and philosophy.

The speakers for this premiere ThoughtLines season are:

Iain McCalman, Emeritus Professor of History and Co-Founder of the Environment Institute at Sydney University, speaking on Saving Ourselves from Ourselves: The Challenge of Human Intervention in Nature.

James Laurenceson, Acting Director of the Australia-China Relations Institute at University of Technology Sydney, China and Australia: Do We Need to Worry?

Lisa Kewley, Professor and Director at the ARC Centre of Excellence of All-Sky Astrophysics in 3D (ASTRO) at the Australian National University – Reaching for the Stars: An Australian Journey Through the Cosmos.
