In their first concert series for the year, string trio Three Piece Suite with guest tenor David Hamilton, invite you to taste a musical smorgasbord from the North – music of Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Scotland. A diverse blend of folk song, dances and chamber music will delight and entertain you in the cosy acoustics of the Presbyterian Church in Wentworth Street, Blackheath. Enjoy some of the most popular Scottish songs performed by Blackheath regular David Hamilton accompanied by Rachel Westwood, violin, Valmai Coggins, viola and Deborah Coogan, cello. As well as dances from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, there will be atmospheric and romantic trios by Melartin, Grieg and Berens, with a few surprises and a scrumptious afternoon tea to follow in the hall. Whether you are a fan of Nordic noir, Scandi style or just like Ikea furniture with a tartan rug thrown over, you will love the colours of Northern Lights. Afternoon tea will be served after the performance in the hall behind the church. Tickets can be purchased prior online or at the door (cash only).
