After a wonderful season, the Willoughby Symphony 2019 chamber series concludes with its third concert, Bows of Youth in the plush and intimate surrounds of the Zenith Theatre.
Chamber Music Series Director, Daniel Dean, has put together a superb collection of masterpieces for strings lead by Willoughby Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Maria Lindsay.
The concert opens with Sibelius’ significant incidental music from the play Ödlan (The Lizard), self-described as one of his most exquisite works.
Willoughby Symphony is delighted to present a newly arranged work by 2017 FM 102.5 Fine Music Young Composer Award winner Ella Macens, before concluding with Mendelssohn’s mighty Octet.
The 70-minute concert will be followed by light refreshments and the opportunity to meet the musicians – a delightful way to spend your Sunday afternoon!
