2015 NSW Seniors Week grant applications to close in 3 weeks

Applications for the $200,000 2015 NSW Seniors Week grants program are set to close on 19 September.

NSW Seniors Week is the largest annual celebration of seniors in the southern hemisphere.

More than 250,000 seniors across the State are expected to participate in the 2015 NSW Seniors week. The week will comprise of events celebrating seniors and their contribution to communities across NSW.

Community groups, volunteer organisations and local councils can now apply for a grant of up to $5,000 to assist with planning their 2015 NSW Seniors Week events. The maximum grant has been increased from $1,000 per applicant in 2013/14.

Minister for Ageing John Ajaka urged community organisations and councils to apply for grants now, with just over 3 weeks left before applications close.

“This is our opportunity to thank our seniors for the great contribution they have made and continue to make in our community”, Mr Ajaka said.

“If you are planning an event to be held during 2015 NSW Seniors Week, I encourage you to submit an application.”

The 2015 Seniors Week will be held from Saturday 14 to Sunday 22 March.

Applications for the 2015 NSW Seniors Week grants program close on Friday, 19 September 2014 and must be submitted online.
