Anzac Day 2017 in NSW
Anzac Day is a day of remembrance. It is an opportunity for veterans, those currently serving and the general public to pay their respects to those who have served our country.
The Sydney CBD will have four key commemoration events on Anzac Day, Tuesday 25 April.
- 4am arrival for 4.30am – Dawn Service
- 9am – Anzac Day March
- 12.30pm – Commemoration Service
- 5pm – Sunset Service
The Dawn Service at the Cenotaph is expected to reach capacity by 3am. People can also watch the service live via a large screen in Martin Place near Pitt Street.
For the safety of all patrons, security staff may conduct bag checks upon general public attending the Dawn Service at the Cenotaph.
If you’re coming into the CBD, you’re encouraged to use public transport. Extra train and bus services will be running early in the morning. To plan your trip, visit transportnsw.info.
There will also be significant road closures and special event clearways in the CBD between 1am and 4pm for the Anzac Day Dawn Service and March. For full details go to livetraffic.com or call the 132 701 Traffic Information Line.

Across regional and rural NSW, there will be various services and events for people to attend and pay their respects. This includes Ballina, Goulburn and Narrandera.
