A six-month trial will allow customers to book a mobile vehicle safety inspection online.

During the trial, customers can book an authorised examiner on the Roads and Maritime website to visit them and complete a safety inspection of their car, motorcycle, boat trailer or caravan.

To receive a mobile inspection:

  1. Contact a participating provider.
  2. Agree on a call out fee.
  3. Identify a safe and suitable area for the inspection.
  4. Arrange a suitable time for the inspection.

The fee for the pink slip will remain the same.

The trial will be rolled out across the Illawarra, Sydney, Central Coast, and Hunter areas.

Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey said the trial aims to ensure mobile pink slip inspections can be delivered in a safe and effective way.

“The addition of mobile pink slip inspections will make the registration process even more efficient,” Mrs Pavey said.
