Eastern NSW disaster assistance available

Disaster relief is available for communities affected by flooding in large parts of eastern NSW.

Disaster assistance is available for Hunter communities affected by flooding.

While damage assessments are continuing throughout the Hunter and Central Coast regions, immediate assistance is available to the local government areas of Dungog, Eurobodalla, Great Lakes, Maitland, Newcastle and Port Stephens. 

Assistance is available for affected:

  • families suffering personal hardship who need food, clothing, emergency accommodation, household items and ways to make their homes safe and habitable again
  • businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations through concessional interest rate loans, freight subsidies and grants
  • councils to restore damaged essential public assets.
