New crossings

The new footbridges at Kuwumi Street, Worth Place, Wolfe Street, Steele Street and Perkins Street will improve links between Newcastle CBD and the foreshore.

Improving local connections

The crossings will kick-start the revitalisation of the Newcastle, enabling pedestrians to move quickly between Hunter Street and the waterfront.

Newcastle revitalisation

Construction of the new footbridges is part of Revitalising Newcastle, an urban renewal project that includes the development of a new transport interchange at Wickham, as well as a new light rail network to service the region.
