Environment Minister and Minister for the Central Coast Rob Stokes said the 3 beach sites form an important habitat for flora and fauna native to the Gosford local government area.

“The restoration will improve dune vegetation and ensure the dunes themselves are able to play their part in the dynamic processes of the beaches”, Mr Stokes said.

Mr Stokes confirmed that the restoration project will also help combat weeds and enhance the area for beach users.

“These dunes are an important asset to the local area, both for their environmental value and their aesthetic beauty,” Mr Stokes said.

The project is one of a number of NSW Environmental Trust Restoration and Rehabilitation grants being used to tackle environmental issues.
