Live and Local micro music festivals will be held in Orange, Newcastle, Tenterfield, Tweed Shire, Wagga Wagga, Kempsey, Armidale and Mudgee.

During the event, live music is played in shops, cafes or other public places to showcase local talent and provide free entertainment for the community.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the events were a fantastic way of bringing local musicians, businesses and regional communities together.

“There’s nothing quite like live music to bring people together and liven up their day,” Mr Barilaro said.

Live and Local micro music festivals were first held in Western Sydney, in Parramatta, Camden and Wollondilly. Now in its second year, the events will also be held in Blacktown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Cumberland, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Campbelltown.

The NSW Government provides funding to councils to cover the cost of fees for musicians, curators and technicians involved in the events.
