New green space opens in Sydney
Ismay Reserve is a new 2.5-hectare park in Homebush, located next to the New M4, just north of Parramatta Road and Pomeroy Street.
Located a short walk from North Strathfield station, the park features:
- a children’s playground
- cycle paths
- all-weather table tennis
- BBQ facilities
- exercise stations
- a futsal court.
The park also features 160 newly planted trees. Another 5500 trees will be added to the local tree canopy as part of the New M4 project.
Ismay Reserve is the first park to open as part of the WestConnex Legacy project. The project aims to provide safe, vibrant and high-quality open spaces for communities impacted by the construction of the New M4.
Planning and Public Spaces Minister Rob Stokes said Ismay Reserve is an example of the NSW Government’s commitment to creating new green open spaces.
“Almost 6000 homes are within 10 minutes’ walk of this fantastic new park, which has something for everyone,” Mr Stokes said.
