Local families with children who need specialised support will benefit from an educational environment that assists student's individual learning requirements.

The new facility will provide students with a top-quality learning environment, allowing them to grow, learn and have fun while getting a first-class education.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said a project team has been appointed to progress the designs and deliver the project for the new school, which will be located next to Karabar High School.

“This school will help local families who are in need of a school which caters to their children’s specific circumstances, and I am thrilled that the NSW Government is able to deliver that,” Ms Berejiklian said.

The NSW Government is delivering more than 170 new and upgraded schools over the next four years under the $6 billion school building program.

Other school building projects being delivered in the Monaro include upgrades to Braidwood Central School, Jindabyne Central School, Karabar High School, Monaro High School, Queanbeyan East Public School and Queanbeyan High School. Work is also underway on the new Finigan School of Distance Education.
