The matched funding (up to $60,000) can be used for a range of initiatives including improvements to facilities and venues, new equipment for arts and cultural purposes and preserving museum collections.

Twelve regional communities shared in more than $355,000 in the 2015 round of Regional Capital funding.

Projects funded on a dollar-for-dollar basis included a new energy efficient LED lighting system for Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, professional audio-visual equipment for The Art House at Wyong Shire Performing Arts Centre, an iPad interactive bench and exhibition lighting for the Berrima District Historical and Family History Society.

Applications close 2 October 2015. For more information including details on how to apply, visit www.arts.nsw.gov.au or email [email protected]

NSW Young Regional Artist Scholarships

The government has also awarded 16 young artists from regional NSW scholarships worth $10,000 each.

The annual NSW Young Regional Artist Scholarships are for people aged 18 to 25, and help them develop their careers and connect with arts organisations and training opportunities.

The scholarships are available for all art forms, fund activities such as mentorships or internships with arts organisations, short-term courses and other training, national and international travel and creation of new work.
