Safety testing starts for Sydney Metro trains
The state-of-the-art train is currently at Sydney Metro HQ at Rouse Hill, where the brakes, acceleration, passenger information displays, lighting and door operations are being tested.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance said the testing is a major milestone for Sydney Metro.
“Safety is Sydney Metro’s number one priority and the testing is being done in close consultation with the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator,” Mr Constance said.
The Sydney Metro will start in north west Sydney in the first half of 2019, where a train will run every four minutes during peak times in each direction.
