South West Rail Link opens to customers
The South West Rail Link has officially opened. Sydney’s newest rail line will run 11.4 km from Leppington to Glenfield via Edmondson Park.

Delivered ahead of schedule
The South West Rail link has opened over 1 year ahead of schedule and $300 million under budget.
The new rail service includes 2 brand new modern stations at Leppington and Edmondson Park, with 1,200 free commuter parking spaces and a train stabling facility at Rossmore.
The service will run approximately every 30 minutes between Liverpool to Leppington, stopping at Edmondson Park and Glenfield, with the journey taking around 15 minutes in each direction. Trains will operate from 5am to midnight every day.
Serving Sydney’s South West growth centre
The service provides essential transport infrastructure in Sydney’s South West growth centre. It will improve transport access for local communities, linking the area’s growing population to key employment centres including Liverpool, Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.
3,000 jobs a year
The project created around 3,000 jobs a year since construction began in August 2009, employing skilled workers across 50 different trades.
