Two new cross-harbour ferry routes for Sydney
The new cross-harbour routes will provide commuters with direct connections between Sydney’s CBD, Inner West, North Shore and the Eastern Suburbs.
The two new routes to be introduced are:
- The F4 Cross Harbour route will stop at Pyrmont, Barangaroo, Balmain East, McMahons Point, Milsons Point, Circular Quay, Rose Bay, and Watsons Bay.
- The F7 Eastern Suburbs route will travel between Double Bay, Darling Point, Garden Island, and Circular Quay.
They will operate at a 20-minute frequency during peak hours and 30 minutes during the day.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the changes would make Sydney Harbour a much more attractive transport alternative for commuters.
“This government has been investing heavily in the ferry network since March 2011, and these new services will make it even more practical for all the tourists who visit as well as those who use ferries for their daily commute,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Transport Minister Andrew Constance said the new route would stop at key wharves across the inner harbour.
“There will also be more peak services at wharves such as Pyrmont, Balmain East, McMahons Point and Milsons Point.”
Six new ultramodern ferries will be introduced throughout the year, to help with the increased ferry services.
