$100 million Pacific Highway Upgrade for the Central Coast
The project is part of the Rebuilding NSW plan. The upgrade will double the current capacity of the Pacific Highway to 2 lanes in each direction from Ourimbah Street, Lisarow to Glen Road, Ourimbah
The project will also include:
- intersection upgrades with pedestrian crossings at Ourimbah Street, Teralba Street and Walmsley Road.
- new bridge structures over Cut Rock Creek to accommodate two lanes in each direction.
Construction is expected to start in the 2015/16 financial year.
The Central Coast has been identified a key growth corridor and area of investment, with an extra 60,000 people expected to be living in the region by 2031.
The government will fund the project by unlocking up to $20 billion from the long-term lease of 49% of state-owned poles and wires.
