Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian warned customers to plan ahead and avoid long queues on Monday 1 September when the 14 tickets will no longer be available.
“It’s important that customers know what paper tickets are going from 1 September so they don’t get caught out in long queues on their way to work next Monday,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Minister Berejiklian said she accepts this is a major change for some paper ticket customers, but has urged customers to take advantage of the benefits of Opal card. Opal benefits include free travel rewards and an online top-up service.
“Opal is transforming the way people travel and helping to bring the state’s public transport network into the 21st century, but I accept it is a major change for customers.
Customers can order their Opal card online or by calling 13 67 25 (13 OPAL).
