Grant funding will help organisations to run local festival events and activities to celebrate the festival’s 60th year.
The festival will be held from 4 – 15 April 2018 and will provide opportunities for people over 60 to remain active, healthy, engaged and contributing to their local communities.
For the first time, three funding categories are available:
- Category 1: Up to $1000 for small-scale local community events and activities targeted at community organisations and schools
- Category 2: $1001 – $5,000 for larger local community events targeted at larger community organisations
- Category 3: $5001 - $10,000 for large scale community events targeted at local councils in partnership with organisations and groups.
Minister for Ageing Tanya Davies said the festival was a brilliant way to connect with and appreciate older people in our communities.
“I encourage organisations to apply for a grant and hold events and activities in April that inspire seniors, regardless of their age or ability,” Mrs Davies said.
Past events have focused on creativity, recreation, technology, and health, while also benefiting the culturally and linguistically diverse, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Applications close at 5pm on 8 September 2017.
