The Port of Newcastle Community Contribution Initiative supports projects that improve amenities and infrastructure for the people of Newcastle.
Grants valued between $10,000 and $500,000 will be available for projects with an environmental, recreational or tourism focus.
Planning Minister Rob Stokes urged local community and charity groups to apply for the grants.
“I encourage organisations such as community groups, not-for-profits and Newcastle City Council to apply,” Mr Stokes said.
