In NSW more than one in ten people are carers who provide unpaid support to those who need it because of a disability, mental illness, chronic health condition, dementia or ageing.
Carers can be anyone from parents to partners, brother or sisters, friends and sons or daughters.
The NSW Carers Awards in 2015 will recognise up to 55 individual carers and organisations from across NSW. Nominees who are nominated for the Highly Commended award will be invited to an awards ceremony where the NSW Carer of the Year will also be announced.
Nominations can be made online until June 29 2015.
You can nominate a carer who you think deserves to be recognised or an organisation that gives support to carers such as a carer friendly support group, employer, school, government or non–government organisation or other community group.
