Almost 20,000 customers have visited the Service NSW centre since it opened last month at the site of the old motor registry.
Customers can carry out a range of transactions at the Service NSW Chatswood centre, including ordering or renewing a driver licence, vehicle registration or e-tag, applying for a birth certificate or even ordering a fishing licence.
“Since opening its doors in December, customers have received a fantastic service from the team, with waiting times averaging just five minutes,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Ms Berejiklian joined Service NSW Chief Executive Officer Glenn King and local service centre manager Chris Tandy to mark the formal opening of the centre.
Ms Berejiklian said she was impressed by the new customer service improvements including an express counter, concierges, and self-service options.
“Service NSW is helping to transform the way people do business with the government,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Our service centres are part of the NSW Governments’ plan to make transacting with the government easier and simpler for all NSW residents and businesses.
“Customers are now able to carry out more than 850 NSW Government transactions either over the counter, through the website or via the 24/7 phone service.
“This service centre is one of 15 opened around the State since July last year with more to come. It is complemented by a new 24/7 phone service and new website.”
The service centres are open for extended hours during the weekdays and also on Saturdays, which has been welcomed by residents and in particular small businesses.
The Chatswood Service NSW centre is located at 313 Victoria Avenue and is open from 7am-7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-3pm on Saturdays.
