Three evacuation centres are open in the Hunter at Maitland, Dungog and Raymond Terrace where up to 60 people and their pets are using the centre.

In Sydney, on the Northern Beaches, an evacuation centre is open at Harbord Diggers, providing shelter to people unable to return to their homes.

Extra assistance is also being provided to the homeless and rough sleepers.

The City of Sydney last night opened and staffed an emergency shelter at Millers Point for eight people who had been transported there by MissionBeat, and this morning met with FACS staff to work out accommodation needs.
