The program, funded by the NSW Government, includes the construction of three new pre-schools at Woy Woy South, Orange and Alstonville, as well as the extension of 10 existing pre-schools to provide additional places.
“Existing services will be extended at Bundanoon, Dubbo, West Dubbo, Wingham, Finley, Old Bar, Gulgong, Bellbird, Oberon and Wollongbar”, Mr Piccoli said.
“The NSW Government is committed to increasing the number of children who attend preschool in the year before school because of the proven benefit in educational outcomes.
Last year the NSW Government also announced a new funding model for preschools, which made $150 million available to community preschools across NSW, a 20% increase on 2013 funding.
Mr Piccoli also said, “The new funding model also aims to meet the NSW State Plan target of ensuring that all children in NSW have access to preschool programs in their year before school”.
