Opal facilities are available at regional Service NSW centres in Gosford, Newcastle, Wollongong, Kiama, Goulburn and Bathurst, as well as the Wynyard and Liverpool centres in Sydney.
Customers can purchase adult or child/youth Opal Cards, top-up existing cards, and check card balances at the participating sites.
Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance urged customers to switch to the new ticketing system before paper tickets were phased out early next year.
“With most paper tickets to no longer be sold from 1 January 2016, customers need to get on board with Opal and embrace our cheap and easy ticketing system. By partnering with Service NSW centres, we’re providing another option for people to make the switch,” Mr Constance said.
Over 4 million opal cards have already been issued and 9 million trips taken every week.
