Mr Baird said the halfway mark of his current term has presented an opportunity to refresh the Cabinet team and hand the reins over to a new Premier.
From the state budget to the economy and jobs, boosting frontline services and kickstarting the state's infrastructure projects, Mr Baird said he was very proud of what his government has achieved.
“Serving as Premier of NSW has been a tremendous honour, but I have made clear from the beginning that I was in politics to make a difference, and then move on. After 10 years in public life, this moment for me has arrived,” Mr Baird said.
Mr Baird will continue as Premier of NSW until next week when a new Premier is appointed.
