Why this training matters
Understanding the history of government policies and their impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities is important. It helps us create safer, more respectful workplaces. It also helps us value the diversity of Aboriginal cultures and experiences. By learning more, we can build stronger relationships with Aboriginal communities and colleagues.
Everyone’s Business supports recommendations 6 and 29 from the NSW Government’s response to the Stolen Generations Unfinished Business report.
This training helps you:
- understand how past government policies and practices continue to affect Aboriginal people and communities today
- learn about transgenerational trauma and trauma informed principles
- understand how to be trauma-informed in your work to support Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities
- learn about the cultural diversity and strengths of Aboriginal people.
