A single source of truth
As we assess and migrate webpages to nsw.gov.au, we're able to remove duplicated content. This streamlining process makes it easier for customers to find the right information, and easier for agencies to update their content.
Alongside the 150 websites we've migrated to nsw.gov.au, we've removed 20,400 redundant or duplicate pages and decommissioned 50 websites (as at 12 March 2026).
User-led information architecture
We organise and label the content on nsw.gov.au based on what people search for, not only by government departments. Since almost half (49.9%) of our traffic arrives through search engines such as Google, we structure content around their search terms.
Each agency also has its own dedicated section and branding alongside the topic-based pathways, so visitors can find content multiple ways.

More traffic
nsw.gov.au reaches more people than an individual agency website can. Your content will be on a website with millions of active users, so there's potential to connect with more customers than you would otherwise. There were more than 5 million active users on nsw.gov.au in December 2025.

Customer feedback
On nsw.gov.au, people can have their say on policy and ask questions. We use this feedback and data to keep improving the experience. Agencies can understand what people need and refine their content accordingly.
Accessibility for all
This is a key priority. We aim for content to be accessible to all, regardless of ability, education, cultural background, age or gender. For content migrated to nsw.gov.au, we have achieved an average accessibility uplift of 28% (as at 31 December 2025).
Personalisation and AI search
We offer AI-powered features such as smart search, content summaries, and tailored experiences through personalisation.
Built-in security
nsw.gov.au complies with standards set by Cyber Security NSW, which help ensure the website remains protected – meaning agencies are free to focus on their content.
We provide continuous monitoring and real-time threat detection via SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
Best-practice features and ongoing support
You'll gain access to a broad suite of platform features to provide world-class experiences to customers.
Since launch, we've built 883 new features. They include search and filter components (such as resource libraries), and automated components that can pull information from a database (such as event filters).
You'll also have access to digital specialists who can help with content strategy, web user experience and technical issues. We've established best practices and processes to support agencies through their journey.
Modern tools your staff can use
An up-to-date website fosters trust and resilience for the people of NSW, especially in emergencies. To this end, your team will build capability in modern digital tools and professional content management.
We provide online training and ongoing support so your staff can confidently manage content into the future. We've trained over 2500 public servants to update their agency's content so far.
Data monitoring
The website fosters more effective government programs through greater awareness and increased participation. We offer better understanding of citizen needs because we can monitor customer data more easily in one place.
