How your agency will publish content after migration
After your website has migrated you'll primarily be responsible for managing your own content and maintaining its quality. Content that is relevant to multiple agencies will be coordinated centrally by the OneCX Program.
Publishing processes and workflows
Agencies need a publishing model which makes it easy to create, update, and manage content. The model must work for both small and large agencies.
The model needs to be:
- Flexible: Agencies can choose who does what based on their resources.
- Adaptable: Agencies can set up processes that suit their content.
We use a hybrid publishing model where content is grouped into 3 types:
Depending on the type, either the OneCX Program or your agency will manage the content.
Centralised content publishing process
Centralised content is managed by the OneCX Program and is for the whole-of-government or global content.
Examples of centralised content include:
- nsw.gov.au home page and landing pages for levels 1 and 2 in the navigation (agencies manage their own home page)
- global content (such as site accessibility, policies, privacy, disclaimer, copyright, feeds)
- global functionality
- feedback.
The OneCX Program will manage content design and editing, coordinating approvals, publishing and maintenance.
Shared content publishing process
Shared content will require approval from the OneCX Program prior to publication.
This is content that brings together a topic that touches customer journeys from across many agencies. It needs central coordination so it's accurate, comprehensive and up to date.
Shared content will generally be designed, developed and published by the OneCX Program in consultation with agencies and stakeholders.
Examples of shared content include:
- cross-agency content (for example Boating and marine in NSW touches on diverse topics and agencies)
- life events
- projects and initiatives
- joint campaigns
- specific functionality (for example, data integration, APIs, mapping solutions)
- boards and committees
- Have your say.
Agency-managed content publishing process
Agency-managed content is exclusive to your agency and will be managed by your own content designers and publishers.
You'll need to designate a subject matter expert, who will require permission, to the agency’s content in the content management system (CMS).
Examples of agency-managed content include:
- specific information about a department (for example, your agency home page, executive or organisational structure)
- content related to legislated functions of the department
- content specific to the remit or services provided by the portfolio.
