What is an agency talent pool?
A talent pool is a group of candidates who have already been assessed and meet the requirements for a role. Being placed in a talent pool means a candidate can be considered for jobs over the next 18 months.
Setting up your own agency talent pool helps you:
- attract a wide range of candidates
- quickly fill roles with pre-assessed applicants.
You can create a talent pool when:
- you’re recruiting for a role and have more than one suitable candidate
- you expect to hire for the same or similar roles in future.
You can also work with other agencies to create a shared talent pool.
The rules for setting up a talent pool are outlined in Government Sector Employment (GSE) Rule 19 on the NSW legislation website.
