How to become a bus driver

To become a bus driver in NSW, you need to have a Bus Driver Authority.

Renew, replace or convert your bus driver authority

Renew or replace a bus driver authority 

You must renew your driver authority before it expires.

Converting an interstate or New Zealand BDA

If you hold a Bus Driver Authority (BDA) issued interstate or New Zealand, you can convert to a NSW authority.

Automatic mutual recognition 

If you hold an interstate Bus Driver Authority, you may be able to work temporarily in NSW under Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR).
