The Premier leads and coordinates the work of the Ministers and has greater authority over all actions of the Cabinet and Government than any other Minister.
The Premier can decide what portfolios the Ministers have and, in the case of the non-Labor parties, also chooses who will be Ministers.
Gladys Berejiklian
Gladys Berejiklian was first elected to the NSW Parliament as Member for Willoughby on 22 March 2003.
She was elected Leader of the Parliamentary Liberal Party on 23 January 2017 and sworn in as the 45th Premier of New South Wales.
