Bait collection in the Central West region

Seasonal baiting programs

In the Central West region, landholders can collect baits for seasonal baiting from their nearest Local Land Services (LLS) office. 

Landholders are encouraged to join local pest animal management groups and work together to bait in a coordinated manner to cover a wide area, which results in a better knockdown.

By participating in the 2025 spring fox baiting program, landholders can:

• access free vertebrate pesticide induction training (now available online)
• receive free fresh baits* for the control of foxes

*Fox baits are limited to a maximum of 1 bait per 5 hectare and baits must not be frozen.

There are bait collection points across the Central West region. See locations below to find your closest point or get in touch with the biosecurity officer from your local area for alternative arrangements.

All baits must be ordered a minimum of 3 days prior to the collection date.

All landholders participating must be accredited for 1080 bait usage and present their chemical card or arrange for an authorised agent to collect and lay baits on their behalf through our office. Contact your local Biosecurity Officer for more information.
