Bait collection in the Northern Tablelands

Fox baiting programs

In the Northern Tablelands region, landholders can collect baits for the control of foxes by joining their local pest animal management group. This allows landholders to work together to bait simultaneously to cover a wide area, which results in better control outcomes across the New England area.

The annual fox baiting program is running again this June and landholders around Walcha, Armidale and Guyra are encouraged to get involved.

By participating in the 2026 fox baiting program, landholders can:

• access free vertebrate pesticide induction training (now available online)
• receive free baits for the control of foxes.

All landholders participating must be accredited for 1080 bait usage and present their chemical card or arrange for an authorised agent to collect and lay baits on their behalf through our office.

All baits must be ordered a minimum of 3 days prior to the collection date.
