Get practical, personalised support
Work with an experienced coach, one‑on‑one or in a small group, to put your plan into action.
Build confidence in your decisions, set clear priorities, and manage drought, climate variability and business risk.
Coaching is tailored to your business, your region and where you are in the drought cycle. The support is practical, timely and focused on what matters most.
Through coaching, you'll gain:
- a clear action plan to put your farm business plan into practice
- stronger financial skills, including cashflow, budgeting and benchmarking
- drought and climate risk built into your planning
- better decisions before, during and after drought
- practical tools and templates you can keep and use on‑farm
- connection with other farmers facing similar challenges.
To take part in coaching, you need a farm business plan in place.
If you don’t have one yet, FBRP workshops and planning support can help you get started.

How business coaching can help your farm business
To take part in coaching, you’ll need a farm business plan in place. Your coach will use it to guide discussions, support decision-making and keep each session focused on your goals.
If you don't have a plan yet, you can attend an FBRP workshop or Build a business plan (link to build a business plan).
A farm business plan is a working document, tailored to your farm — not a template and not something you write once and file away.
Depending on where your business is at, your plan may include:
- business goals and priorities
- enterprise and production planning
- cashflow, budgeting and financial management
- drought, climate and business risk assessment
- natural capital and land management
- succession planning.
You don’t need to cover everything at once. Your plan grows and changes as your business does.
Once your plan is ready, coaching helps you:
- work through your priorities
- test decisions before you commit
- track progress
- adjust as conditions change
- stay accountable and on track.
It’s practical, hands‑on support.
Some coaching may involve a small cost depending on the level of support.
Waivers and flexible payment options are available — just ask.
