Writing a business case for regional infrastructure funding

These business case guidelines for regional infrastructure projects are designed to support applicants prepare strong proposals and simplify the requirements set out in longer, more technical NSW Government guidelines.

Prior to commencing work on developing a business case for a project please contact the Office of Regional Development to discuss your project ideas and program eligibility.

An Expression of Interest needs to be completed and assessed before applicants will be requested to prepare a business case for potential program funding.

Guidelines

The first section of these guidelines outlines why business cases are required and key business case principles. The remaining sections provide practical advice on key business case components for applicants to demonstrate how their proposals align with Government priorities, provide value for money and can be delivered with an acceptable level of risk.

This template provides the structure for applicants to include all the information required for a detailed business case.
