The NSW and Australian Government have committed over $790 million to support recovery, repair and rebuilding efforts of storm and flood impacted regions.
As part of this, the Department of Regional NSW is rolling out targeted initiatives and investments to support medium to long term recovery, generate jobs, and build more resilient communities and industries in the regions most impacted by the February and March 2021 storms and floods.
The Department of Regional NSW will lead the delivery of a number of key programs in partnership with Resilience NSW, including:
1. $80 million Storm and Flood Industry Recovery Program - targeted assistance to support primary producers and primary production enterprises as they recover and rebuild.
2. $25 million Rural Landholders Grants - targeted assistance for rural landholders who do not qualify for existing programs to support the long-term recovery of impacted regions, administered by the NSW Rural Assistance Authority.
In addition, a $200 million Infrastructure Betterment Fund will be established to support the reconstruction and improved disaster resilience of public assets damaged during the recent storms and floods as well as the 2019-20 bushfires.
This page will be updated as recovery programs are launched. Check back here for the latest information on available support.
